Every Friday, between 3:15p.m. and 4:30p.m., after school, there is a group of 20 working in the Art Room. What are they doing? They all adore Western Calligraphy and they learn it from Miss Ching enjoyably. So, do you want to know more about this club?

This club was established in 1998 and Miss Brenda Ching is responsible for it. Being a crazy lover of Western Calligraphy, Miss Ching instructed a class in it in order to teach students the incredible mystery of it.

To catch students' interest, a number of fascinating activities were held. For instance, the first exhibition was organized from 11th Jan to 14th Jan. Miss Ching especially borrowed some outstanding pieces of work from other artists to display to students. Apart from this, there were also display of writing tools and a demonstration of the skills of Western Calligraphy. This activity was successful!!

Moreover, other activities are also fantastic. We had slide shows and bamboo pen making. These were definitely exciting!! Until now, the skills of writing Roman and Gothic had been taught and the members found so much fun during the making of bookmarks by means Omni colour, embossing powder together with some other materials. Activities that are more interesting will soon be held in the future.

"This club aims to raise the knowledge of Western Calligraphy of students." said Miss Ching sincerely. So, don't hesitate. Come and join this club and you will surely develop your interest in Western Calligraphy!
